About Live Young Blog

Welcome to Live Young Blog

I am a humanitarian & activist and the author of this blog. I write under the name Annes Aeon Lane and I currently reside in Minnesota. Live Young was formed first out of my curiosity on an array of topics which I consider myself passionate about. A few of these topics include food, sex, art, health, sustainability, anthropology, culture, technology, and the overlapping theme of this blog- aging.

Secondly, this blog was inspired by one of my favorite quotes: “How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?” Leroy Robert Satchel Paige was a legendary Major League Baseball player- a right handed Pitcher of the mid 1900s who, in a sense, defied social standards of the idea and word “age” because he played MLB well into his 40s. This blog focuses on the very ideas of living life in a sense that defies age or what we know of the invention we call age. I do not mean choosing to be in denial about how many years we are, many of us know very well our ages, some in this world do not.                                                                                                                                                                  So let us imagine, what if we were a culture who didn’t keep track of age? Of numbers? What if we didn’t spend our time worrying about how close we are to retirement, or our __ieth birthday? In many senses, age is a cultural standard developed for purposes of our governments to keep track of us as individuals, or for scientific or health studies, but all it really does is cause stress. This blog encourages us to think live in ways that defy these typical age standards. This means being wise in spirit, but youthful at the same time. It also means we stop focusing or putting so much emphasis on ideas that encourage “aging” or end of life-matters and start living in ways in which we enjoy life and forget about counting the years. There are people living full, and active lives well into their years every day. Everyone has the right to live the happiest and healthiest life possible. The best way to do this, I believe, is to live young by keeping ourselves and our planet young.

The changes you make in your own life can have a direct impact on you, those around you, and the health of our planet.  As one of my favorite bands, Led Zepplin quotes: “now’s the time, the time is now!”

How did you come up with the ideas for this website? I cover my passion for this site in the introduction above.

Where do you get your information & knowledge for your site content from? All of my facts and shared knowledge comes from studying, extensive research, and book reading on a wide variety of topics. I don’t publish any facts or content on my site that doesn’t come from credited sources (i.e. from the source itself. For example: if I am writing about Fair Trade, I use only the information on which I’ve learned as a member of a Fair Trade Initiative or the facts which I’ve learned from a reputable book, or actual peer-reviewed journal, or official fair trade website).

I will post my opinions and encourage discourse and comments, but when I am mixing my personal experiences in with factual information, I do my best to make sure there is clarity there.

Are you an expert on any subject? I’m not a certified expert or trained health professional. My opinions and shared information come from my first-hand experiences and passion for living my life in what I consider to be the best way possible in our world today (I’m not a Doctor, so my suggestions cannot replace medical advice).

How is it that you became versed in these themes? Some close to me would say that I’m ridiculously curious. And as the late Dorothy Parker once said: “The cure for boredom is curiosity. There is no cure for curiosity.”

I have a product I want you to try or write about. I have an inspiration or topic idea I want you to share on this site. Will you do it? I am more than happy to address such requests. I get most of my inspiration from people like you. Head over to my contact info and send me an email. We’ll see what we can work out.

Do you do giveaways? If so, when? Yes I do. At this time, giveaways are at random (meaning when I get enough money to buy extra gifts to give away), so keep reading and you won’t miss it.

Do you receive payment or incentives to cover the things you write about on this site? No. I believe in the topics, products, and subjects I write about here. I don’t need to be paid to share about the things I love!

Are you married? Yes, I am happily married to my best friend and pretty much one of the coolest people on planet earth!

Do you color your hair? What is your natural hair color? I used to color my hair for about 6 years. I colored it pretty much every shade except for blonde. At present I do not color my hair and haven’t for 4 years now (unless it’s with henna).

What beauty products do you use? I use ECOCERT®/ Certified Organic, Fair Trade Certified, and USDA Certified Organic products. However, aside from makeup, I make many of my own products. You can learn how to do it too; check out my Youtube Channel, Live Young, here.
